Making Room This Easter

For Easter this year, we are planning on holding two worship services. As you know, some Sundays we have a full sanctuary; on Easter Sunday, we expect even more visitors. We want there to be space for everyone, particularly those who are new to Christianity. Sometimes making space for the people God brings us can be difficult; but at JVC, we want to prioritize that even if it is inconvenient. We will send out more information, but I wanted to give you all a heads-up to start planning. We will need more volunteers in order to run both services. As I mentioned last month, one of our themes for this year is a commitment to excellence in our church. On Easter Sunday, we will really need your help with this.

Another way you can prepare is by praying for God to bring people on Easter. There are so many people who are exploring Christianity right now but are scared to visit a church. Pray that God would give them the courage to show up; for many people, Easter is an easier Sunday to attend church. Another way you can prepare is by inviting people. We’ve often encouraged you to be praying for five people who you want to come to faith. If they live in the area, invite them to worship! Sometimes that invite is just the nudge someone needs to finally show up. I say it over and over, but I believe there are many thousands of people in this valley whom God has chosen to be his; they just don’t know it yet.

Will you join us in praying for them and in praying that God would use our church in his work of reaching the lost?

In Christ,
Pastor Jon
